The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the final result of the Presidential Election
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has announced the final result of the Presidential Election.
The final collated result released shows that the Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari came out top with a total vote of 15,191,847 to defeat his closest rival, the Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the person of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who polled a total vote of 11,262,978.

The result thereby returns the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office.
