Highlight
  1. Liverpool, Manchester City keep up the pace in the title race
  2. Solskjaer strong candidate for United full time Job
  3. Chelsea in dire need of a striker
  4. Should Tottenham consider a winter Deal?
Four major talking points from the weekend matches.

  • Liverpool, Manchester City keep it tight at the top
The title race is shaping up to be a two-horse race with Liverpool and Manchester City at the helm of things at the top. Liverpool overturned a 1 - 0 deficit at half time to win a seven-goal thriller against crystal palace while Manchester City were comfortable 3 nil winners at Huddersfield.
With these results, just four points separates these two teams after match week 23 and with just 15 matches left, which is still a long way to go, football lovers are anticipating an exciting end to this season's league campaign. Some people fancy Liverpool to come out as eventual winners come the end of the season partly due to their light schedule as opposed Manchester City's, who are still actively involved in the hunt for four trophies. Does busy schedule actually have effect on matches? We will get to see.
  • Solskjaer Strong Candidate for United Full Time Job
Manchester United have won six consecutive premier league matches since the appointment of interim manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer and they are three points behind fourth placed Chelsea which has created divisions among fans with most people suggesting he should be given the United job on a full time basis with the way he has rejuvenated the team.
Although we don't know what will actually happen come the end of his temporary contract, but one thing is now certain, the caretaker is surely taking care of everything.
  • Chelsea in dire need of a striker
Chelsea's 2 - 0 loss to London rivals, Arsenal at the Emirates is a further prove of their urgent need for a natural striker, the blues were predictable and blunt in attack against the team with the fifth worst defense this season as they failed to record a single shot on target until the 82nd minute.
Maurizio Sarri has deployed hazard as a false 9 since he lost confidence in his strikers, a tactics which has been effective in some matches, especially in the win over Manchester City but teams are now correctly predicting his tactics. Against Arsenal, it was totally ineffective as they struggled to breakdown the gunner's defense, in what was a tactical masterclass by Unai Emery with his fluid, 4-4-2 diamond set up. Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with Juventus over the signing of Gonzalo Higuain, which they must act fast on as teams are closing up on them. Chelsea's striker situation comes as a surprise to many given that they have several strikers on their book, Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham.
  • Should Tottenham consider a winter Deal
Tottenham sit third on the log, but have lost several key players with Son heung-min presently participating in the Asian Cup with South Korea, Harry Kane's injury in the defeat to Manchester United, and the supposed knock received by Dele Alli in their win over Fulham.
With important matches coming up soon, Tottenham may consider bringing in reinforcements. They make a short trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the second leg of their league cup semi final before coming up against crystal palace in the F.A Cup and these are matches that asks questions about the depth of a team.

These are the talking points from these weekend's matches.
