Sarri Infuriated by Penalty call, claims English Refs can’t use VAR
The Chelsea boss was not pleased with the use of Video Assistant Referee following a controversial moment in his Tuesday night Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Napoli coach claimed that he does not think the English Referees can properly use the system at his post-match interview with Sky Sports.
Harry Kane was awarded a penalty kick after he was tripped by Kepa Arrizabalaga in the first half of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium, the incident was not that clear to Michael Oliver prompting him to review the sequence with VAR.

Sarri after re-watching the event on the club’s analyst laptop claimed the Ref should have blown offside against Harry Kane rather than a penalty.
A few minutes ago I watched the video from our camera. It was offside. Our camera was in line with Harry KaneSarri told Sky Sport at the post-match interview.
I don't think English referees are able to use the system, If you are not sure with the system, you have to follow the ball and at the end of the action decide. But he stopped it and didn't follow the ball, for our defenders it was offside. I don't know about the goalkeeper but sure the defenders.
I think they have to study the system, it’s very strange in the Premier League there isn't VAR and in Carabao Cup there is the system. It's very strange for us, the players and referees.
The penalty gave Tottenham Hotspur the edge in the first leg of the semi-finals with both teams clashing again on the 24th of January for the second leg to determine who would advance to the finals.
