Monaco Suspend Thierry Henry as Head Coach
Thierry Henry has been suspended after three months in charge of the French side Monaco
The French international endured a despondent three months in charge of Monaco winning only five games in all competition, leaving the team in the relegation zone (19th position on Ligue 1 table) and two points away from safety.
Thierry is yet to win a home game since he was appointed the head coach, with their last game at Stade Louis II ending in a 3-1 cup defeat to a much lower Ligue 2 side Metz. Also, their last league game at home ended in an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Strasbourg.
The pressure was much on the 41-year-old former Sky Sports pundit, as he was seen using foul language to insult Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala on the touchline, though he was forced to apologise.
The former Arsenal striker was relieved of his duties by Monaco so as to avoid relegation in this season’s campaign. However, it is understood that He (Henry) is set to be sacked and replaced by his predecessor, Leonardo Jardim.
For the main time, Henry’s assistant Franck Passi would be in charge until a final decision is taken on his boss’s suspension and/or another manager (most likely Jardim) is brought in.
