Justin Fields Confirms Transfer to Ohio University Buckeyes
It is official, Justin Fields is heading to Ohio University. While it was rumored by several sporting outlets and recently confirmed earlier yesterday that the rising second year undergraduate will be transferring from Georgia to Ohio State, Fields himself stamped the move in a statement released on Friday night, where he cemented the move and expressed gratitude towards those he was able to meet and know in the past year.
In his statement, he said:
To the college football community and, in particular, the wonderful UGA fans who've been so supportive of me this past year:
My time at the University of Georgia has given me the opportunity to refine my skills under great coaches and to play with incredibly talented teammates who've become like brothers to me. I appreciate what coach Smart and the UGA coaching staff have done to help me progress as a quarterback and for their patience and understanding while I thoughtfully considered my future as a student-athlete. I've decided to transfer to Ohio State University where I will continue to pursue my undergraduate degree and play football for the Buckeyes.
He further stated that he would miss his colleagues and wish his former team all the best while also clarifying that he won't be holding any press conference or interview and any further questions or inquiries be directed to Jerry Emig, Associate Sports Information Director, Football. Ohio State University.

The former five-star also had 42 carries for 266 yards and four touchdowns in his 12 appearances out of 14 games.
When he signed with Georgia, he was the nation's No. 2 overall prospect and top dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class. USA Today's Dan Wolken initially reported his transfer from UGA back in December which was instantly rebuffed by Kirby Smart who responded that Fields was "exploring his options." and although Smart also said that Fields would be used in his normal role against the Longhorns in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, however, fields didn't appear in that game at all.
Fields will surely be missed by the bulldogs, although they have responded perfectly to the loss by bringing in two quarterbacks on the first day of the early signing period. We wish Justin Fields good luck in the future.
