Ambode Receives Impeachment Threat from Lawmakers over Lagos Budget

It is as clear as crystals that the relationship between the Legislative and Executive arms of Lagos state has become sore, the dilemma was worsened on Monday, as the Lagos State House of Assembly member resumed sitting to commence impeachment move against the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode over the lingering delay in the presentation of the 2019 Appropriation Bills and other sundry matters

It was reported that the cause of the delay is due to the unresolved issues between the lawmakers and the governor.

It was deliberated at the resumed plenary by the lawmakers of Lagos State House of Assembly, the need to apply a though hands by commencing an impeachment process against the governor over gross final misconduct in the implementation of 2018 budget.

A committee set up by the House was chaired by the deputy speaker, Wasiu Sanni-Eshilokun to handle the alleged major infractions and gross violations.

Other members of the committee include Hon Moshood Oshun, Gbolahan Yishawu, Dayo Saka-Fafunmi and Abiodun Tobun. The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa told the lawmakers how important it is to give the governor a chance of fair hearing over the issue
