Rangers wants Balogun and Aribo to arrive late for the AFCON

Glasgow Rangers are seeking to reach an agreement with Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to have Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey report late to the team's camp for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022.

Clubs across europe and the world at large will have to do without their African Stars for some couple of weeks as the AFCON Nations Cup kicks off in January 2022.
Rangers will hope that both players, who are expected to make the Eagles AFCON squad, can play against Celtic on January 2nd, according to the Daily Record.

FIFA regulations state that teams must release their players on December 27 in preparation for the event, which begins on January 9.

The three players will miss the derby against their fiercest rivals as a result of this.

Rangers are confident, though, of successfully negotiating with the Nigeria Football Federation and Rohr for the players to report for duty after the Celtic match, according to Mailsport.
